Dancing with the unknown – mark making will help you free up your watercolours and mixed media paintings. It is Vandy’s experimental approach to water-based media. In this workshops she will teach you to become more adventurous with your paintings using combinations of ink, watercolour and drawing media. Vandy will guide you through the process of using play to make exciting, dramatic, impactful paintings.

Dancing with the Unknown – mark making: What you will get from this workshop
In this two-day workshop, we will use combinations of watercolour, ink and drawing media to experiment with mark making. The focus of these sessions will be exploring the type of marks that appeal to you, and pushing them further to develop nd enhance your individual style.
You will be guided through the process of discovering ways of working so you can produce exciting images on paper.
The workshop will equip you with processes you can use whenever you feel your paintings need something new. During the two days you will be given prompts and subjects to spark fresh ideas. You will work with a range of tools to create new and interesting effects.
On the second day of the workshop, you will learn to transfer the ideas and marks you created to a series of paintings on different scales.
This workshop is suitable for artists of all levels. Vandy’s gives everyone gets the attention they need to acquire new skills. Join Vandy to explore new ways of working with watercolour and dry media to hone your individual style.
