Product Description
Coastal Path Mixed Media painting is inspired by a walk along part of the North Norfolk coast. The route includes a path from Wells-next-the-Sea to Stiffkey. This part of the coastal path meanders around salt marshes and across grassy areas. Along the way, you encounter weathered posts, occasional small boulders and views out across the North Sea. The ground underfoot can be muddy so some parts are hard going. But nevertheless, it is well worth the walk for the views.
The North Norfolk Coastal Path evokes a sense of space. Big skies and blustery winds remind the walker that this edge of England is bounded on the land side by flat fenland, and on the coast by the wide water between England and the coast of The Netherlands. The Coastal Path mixed media painting conveys this with a wide sweeping arc of blue which runs the breadth of the upper segment of the paper, making it easy to retain when the painting is in a frame. Earthy colours echo the rich tones of the ground traversed.
The painting’s elements vibrate with the freedom of Norfolk skies and land, and so bringing these elements together for the viewer. If you’d like to see some of this paint’s creation, here’s a post about it.
